What To Expect

When you are looking for a veterinary care clinic you should be able to count on superior care and excellent service.  It is very important to us at Topsham Veterinary Wellness Center that you feel comfortable with how both you and your pet are treated by our doctors and staff.

We promise to listen to your concerns, properly evaluate your pet for any medical or behavioral problems, and strive to give you the advice you deserve as you make decisions on treatments and preventative measures recommended. We will always give you information with your pet's best interest in mind.

We have a strict policy against making your first appointment and not showing up for it.  This will result in permanent dismissal from our practice, as this no-show limits what we can do for other pets who need us.  For similar reasons, there is a $25 missed appointment for established clients who do not call and cancel an appointment that they are scheduled for.

We have a state of the art veterinary facility which is clean, comfortable, and efficient.  Call (207) 406-4468 to schedule an appointment and we will find a time that is convenient for you and your beloved pet.

At least once a year, you should take your pet in for a check-up.  This will include a comprehensive physical exam.  Without a visit to your veterinarian regularly, your pet may miss out on a diagnosis that may be easy to fix in the acute stages, but would otherwise be complicated if it were not identified soon enough.  Our doctors will check the health of your pet from head to tail, and you will be very happy you came to Topsham Veterinary Wellness Center for service.

Bring in any medical history you have of your pet when you come to our wellness center.  It's best to keep a journal of your pet's health throughout his or her life, including behavioral shifts.  If you have something like this, share it with our team.  If not, let us know everything that you think will be important.  

In some circumstances, the attending DVM will refer you to a specialist who has advanced expertise in areas such as internal medicine or surgery.  We are fortunate in Topsham to have access to a number of skilled referral hospitals, some less than 1 hour away.  

If your pet needs to stay with us for the day we will do our best, as time allows, to photo document their time at Topsham Veterinary Wellness Center.
